An introductory course covering the fundamentals of horticulture. Growing houseplants and outdoor plants, learning about the greenhouse environment, flowering plants, pest control, landscape design and management/installation. Each student will be able to grow plants in the greenhouse for personal use and for sales. A section on careers in horticulture will be taught. Check with counselor to see if transportation will be available to this class. Completion of a Supervised Occupational Experience (SOE) and involvement in a leadership program through FFA/Horticulture Club is encouraged. First sequence in the Environmental Science Tech Prep Program which may earn advanced credit at Edmonds Community College and/or Lake Washington Tech. College.

Tech Prep classes - High school classes may be eligible for college credit at no cost to students. College credit will be awarded based on competencies completed in high school. Some colleges may charge transcript fee
