New start and dismissal times for schools in 2008-09
These are the new start and release times for the 2008-09 school year in the Edmonds School District.
The chart below shows the times in effect when schools open on Sept. 2.
These changes are being made to save costs in the district. Combined with a plan to pair special education
schools that are closer in proximity for transportation purposes, the accumulated savings should be in excess
of $204,000 for 2008-09. This new system will allow the district to use fewer buses and therefore achieve savings.
