Kindergarten Registration Information
Welcome to Kindergarten in the Edmonds School District! Kindergarten registration for the 2008-09 school year officially begins January 14, 2008 at your home school. Your student must be 5 years old by August 31, 2008 in order to register.
The following items are needed to complete the registration process:
- A copy of your child’s certified birth certificate issued by the county of birth
- Proof of residency (utility bill, lease papers, mortgage papers, etc. – daycare addresses are not sufficient for enrollment)
- Names & phone numbers of two emergency contacts
- Proof of immunizations to date
Please Note: Kindergarten registration forms are not available online. School-specific kindergarten
registration packets are available at each neighborhood school.
Parents are strongly encouraged to register their kindergarten student at their resident area elementary school before placing their name on the transfer enrollment waiting list at another school in the district. Please refer to "Neighborhood School Finder," or contact the Transportation Department at 425-431-7230 if you are unsure which school your child should attend.
Most schools will offer the following kindergarten programs for the 2008-09 school year:
Part-Day
- Kindergarten students attend school 5 days a week in either a morning or afternoon session. There is no cost to parents.
Full-Day
- Kindergarten students attend school for a full school day 5 days a week. This model is funded in part by parent paid tuition. Please request a Full-Time Kindergarten Contract when you pick up your registration materials.
- Tuition for this model will be $3,330 for the 2008-09 school year. A deposit of $333 is due at the time of registration to confirm your child’s placement in the program. Nine additional payments of $333 each will be due starting September 15, 2008 through May 15, 2009.
- Financial aid may also be available to families who meet district financial need criteria and provide proof of income. If you feel you may qualify for financial aid, please request the Kindergarten Tuition Financial Aid Application with your registration materials.
