NEW STUDENT ACCOUNTS
(2008-2009 School Year)
New student accounts have been created in the MISO domain. You will no longer log onto the STUDENTS domain. Here is the information you need:
USERNAME: The Alpha Key ID (NameKey) that's
used for Skyward Family Access. There are some exceptions in that some
special characters such as spaces( ), hyphens(-), and apostrophes(') are not
allowed and are simply thrown out when creating the username. Basically
the algorithm for the username is the following:
First 5 letters of your last
name followed by
First 3 letters of your first name
followed by
3
digits
this number must simply be memorized
Here are some examples:
Name: Sample Student Name: Student O'Year |
Name: Le Student Name: Groucho Al |
PASSWORD: First 4 letters of your last name +
your birthday (mm/dd).
You will be asked to change your password when you first log on. Any of
your teachers can reset your password. When it is reset, it reverts back
to the format described above.
INTERACTION WITH YOUR OLD ACCOUNT:
If you have had an old account, the data from your old home directory will be
transferred to your new home directory when you first log on. You will see
a message reminding you of that when you first log on. Please do not log
off before the transfer is complete. You will have READ-only access to
your old home directory for the first semester of this school year. After
that the old home directories will be deleted.
BASIC INFORMATION ON YOUR NEW ACCOUNT:
Your new account has several great new features:
1) Your home directory (aka DIGITAL LOCKER) is larger. You can store up to 500 MB of data.
2) You can access your home directory from home. WebTrekker gives you access to you home directory (referred to as a Digital Locker) from the Internet. The address for WebTrekker is: http://webtrekker.edmonds.wednet.edu
