Welcome to the Counseling Department
Web Page!
Counselors,
together with other faculty members, strive to increase student motivation
and achievement by maximizing each individual's educational, personal,
social, and career development potential. We act as advocates for
students in working with school personnel, families, and community
agencies to remove barriers to student learning.
Counselors provide direct service in the areas of
academic guidance, post-high school planning, crisis intervention,
personal counseling, and referrals to outside resources.
While each
counselor has primary responsibility for one of the five small schools, we
are always available to any students needing to talk regardless of small
school assignment.
Appointments: Students
may sign up for an appointment on their counselor's clipboard on the counter
in the counseling office. It is up to the student to get permission
from their teacher to leave class for an appointment--counselors will
not call students down for these appointments. Counselors are usually
available before school and during lunches for drop-in appointments as
well.
