Running Start

Under this state program most courses 100 and above at the community college may be counted for both college and high school credit simultaneously. There is no tuition for the classes. Students are expected to purchase their own books and materials and pay lab fees. Students are responsible for their own transportation and lunches. Failed college class grades become a permanent part of the college and high school transcripts. Failed college classes could jeopardize high school graduation. Running Start students are eligible to participate in extracurricular activities at both the college and high school. Eligibility for Running Start is determined by a student's performance on the AccuPlacer test or Asset test which tests English and math skills.

If you are interested in Running Start pick up a Running Start brochure in the Career Center and see your high school counselor for further details. If you hope to participate in Running Start you must do your course planning as if you were going to MTHS full time. Your schedule will be adjusted at a later date.

Intra-District Courses

In addition to the many professional-technical courses offered onsite at MTHS, our students may take advantage of designated professional-technical courses offered at Edmonds-Woodway, Meadowdale, Lynnwood and Scriber Lake High Schools.  Students maypick up a Shared Students form in the Career Center.

Sno-Isle Skills Center

Juniors and seniors have the option of taking vocational training courses through the Sno-Isle Skills Center, located in Everett. Bus transportation is provided to and from MTHS.
