Fields of Study Overview

What is a Field of Study Concentration? Field of Study concentrations are 2.0 credit concentrations of courses where students develop skills, understand concepts, and explore opportunities within an area related to their interests and post-high school goals. These concentrations provide the context for development of the student's required Culminating Project, and must be completed sometime between a student's 10th and 12th grade years. Within the Edmonds School District, academic and Career and Technical Education Field of Study concentration options are organized within five areas: Arts and Communication; Business and Marketing; Engineering and Technology; Health and Human Services; and Science and Natural Resources. Fields of Study are part of the High School and Beyond Plan.
