First year algebra includes working with problems that involve ratios, solving and graphing linear and quadratic equations, and solving systems of equations. A scientific calculator is required. Learning demonstrations include: homework, class participation, quizzes, tests, and projects. Honors coursework is available.

Geometry/IED is an integrated Geometry and Computer Design course (Introduction to Engineering Design).  This course meets WA State and Edmonds School District Geometry requirements and prepares students for the 10th grade WASL.  Students will study shapes, including measurement and spatial relationships, and develop problem-solving skills using a design development process.  This course is part of “Project Lead the Way”, a nationally recognized pre-engineering preparation program.  Students take this course for mathematics and technology credit.  Learning demonstrations include: tests, quizzes, homework, class participation and projects.  Learning will also be assessed by scoring rubrics, modeling, applied knowledge, teacher observations/evaluations, and peer evaluations.
