Bienvenidos! In first year Spanish you will learn the foundations of the language that include understanding, speaking, questioning, reading, and writing in a culturally and language rich environment. This course does not stress grammatical instruction, but rather encourages grammatical correctness by modeling correct grammar through storytelling. This method promotes long-term memory retention. It will teach you to relate language to actual objects and actions. Courses will be assessed through a variety of methods including: Authentic assessments, participation, traditional tests and quizzes, daily assignments, and/or projects. |
Bienvenidos! In second year Spanish you will build upon the foundations of the language acquisition. You will enrich your vocabulary, reading, writing and speaking skills. You will also add the past tense to your language repertoire. Storytelling remains the principle method of language instruction. Your participation will continue to be a major component of your learning.
