Aerobic Fitness  (PHE420)

This class will improve student's aerobic fitness through activities including aerobic dance, step aerobics, kick boxing, pilates, weight training, and stretching exercises.

Learning will be assessed on daily participation and written assignments.

Conditioning Fitness (PHE443)

Prerequisite: None

Length:  1 semester

Credits:  .5

Conditioning Fitness will involve cardiovascular and weight training activities for students interested in improving their overall fitness. Emphasis will be placed on improving endurance, strength and flexibility. All components of fitness will be addressed in this comprehensive fitness class.

Learning will be assessed in a variety of methods: Daily participation, maintain a workout journal throughout the semester.

Prerequisite: Conditioning Fitness 9

Basic instruction in a variety of sports, recreational and conditioning activities to encourage a healthy lifestyle. Gain an understanding of personal fitness.

Learning will be assessed through the demonstration of proper skill technique and knowledge of the rules and strategies through game situations.

F.I.S.T. Health  (AFT100)

Prerequisite: None

Co-requisite:  Must be taken with F.I.S.T. Computer Tech & FACSE for a year long class

Credits:  .5

One semester of the Freshmen Instructional Skills Training (F.I.S.T.) class will be basic health concepts. Topics will include Human Anatomy, Mental Health, Substance Use and Abuse, Nutrition, Human Sexuality, Disease Prevention, and CPR and First Aid.

Learning will be assessed through tests, projects, group and individual activities, and class participation.
