MTHS Tardy Policy

A student is considered tardy if they are not in their classroom at the beginning of the period.  Most staff will give students approximately 10 minutes to get to class before the tardy becomes an unexcused absence.  Some of the SLC's have developed their own tardy policy.  Please check with your Advisor for your school's current tardy policy.  In general, teachers may tie grades to being to class on time.  This falls under the category of "class participation".   Teachers may assign lunch or after school detention to make up time missed being tardy.  If the student doesn't show, then the teacher can assign Friday School or take other disciplinary action for "failure to follow a reasonable request".
