Decisions Made

We are a college prep school founded on the belief that academic challenge and the study of the arts prepare students to live rich, satisfying, and creative lives.  We believe that our students should have as many choices available after high school as possible.  Therefore, our recommended program of study exceeds the graduation requirements of the Edmonds School District, and meets the entrance requirements for four-year state universities.  These high expectations are balanced with high levels of personal support and creative exploration of the arts, to ensure student success.

We recommend TAAS students satisfy a two-year minimum requirement in arts education.  We believe a study of the arts brings self-awareness and inspiration that is essential to the well-being of the whole student.

In TAAS, we define arts broadly to include visual (2D and 3D), technical, literary, and performing arts.  Our emphasis is on fostering creativity and ingenuity - positive attributes in all areas of study.  We provide opportunities for students to experience the arts as consumers as well as to express themselves through participation in the arts.
