In this session you will learn the basic's of photography. Taking pictures may seem very simple, but when you are a professional photographer, and really need to take good quality photo's you wont think the same as before. Now days they made cameras with digital screens, auto focus, and all of the automatic features. In the old days there were camera's called "pinhole cameras." A pinhole camera is a tin can, with a magnet, and a hole in it. That is all it is. With a pinhole camera there is no focus or anything like that. These days cameras are all automatic, and very complicated to use.
The next thing that you will learn is all about developing the film. You can't have any light at all when developing pictures. If you get some light you will ruin the pictures, and I don't mean just one picture, you are going to ruin all of the film strip. You have to use many liquids while developing pictures also. There is a liquid called D-76 which is the first one you use, and the second one is called fixer, and the last liquid you have to use is water.
I have had many experience's in Mr. Cashman's photography class, and all of those experience's are not good. Some are good and some are bad, and some are really bad. The good experience's that I had is getting all my work done, and in on time, and to make sure to keep all of my supplies clean and ready for the next student to use. A bad experience that I was ruining my photos due to light. I didn't think that a little bit of light will ruin my whole film strip so I exposed a little bit. So when it was all done, and i took it out of the canister it was all black. I asked Mr. Cashman what happened he said: "you exposed it." I new that would be the case but that was my bad experience. My very bad experience that i had was with the chemicals. I dropped some of the D-76 on my pants, and it stained the whole area where I dropped it, and now I cant wear that pair of pants any more. In the links below you will learn more about photography in general, and more about my experiences!
