"I moved into teaching after working in the engineering and manufacturing professions for 15 years. I am in my 5th year teaching in the Career and Technical Education department, and I'm finding that working with high school students as they prepare for college and careers to be amazingly rewarding. I'm currently teaching Engineering-Science Connections and Aerospace, and have previously taught Manufacturing, Engineering Design, Energy Technology, and Applied Math. My wife's name is Whitney, and we have 4 children, ranging in age from 7 to 16 years old. I enjoy all raquet sports, water sports, and classic cars."

  • Scott Lindley:

  • Jacquelyn Powell:
  • Birthplace: Seattle, Washington
    Garfield High School, Washington
    B.S. Tarleton State University
    M.S. Virginia State University

"I enjoy being a teacher. Why you might ask when there is low pay, little respect and more hours than when I worked in Industry? Well, it's the often cliche one kid that comes back after they graduate to say thanks for staying on me in your class and always supporting me. It's almost like being a parent a zillion times over but the kid doesn't live at home."
"I enjoy graphic design, reading, sewing and walking on trails with my family."
Mrs. Powell currently teaches the following courses at MTHS: Algebra I, Animation, Computer Tech, and Computer Animation. She also coaches the Step Team here at MTHS. By the spring, she will be the advisor for Ignite, a foundation that inspires girls now in technology evolution (Ignite-us.org).
