MMS Food Drive
This week our school is doing our annual Food Drive. Students are asked to bring in non-perishable food items. Homerooms are competing for prizes, and all food will be donated to the Snohomish County Food Bank.
Multi-Cultural Night, March 27, 6:30-8:00
MMS will be hosting our 2nd Multi-Cultural Night on March 27 from 6:30-8:00 PM. There will be food, activities, arts & crafts, dancing and community group performances.
SMARTER BALANCED ASSESSMENT (SBA) TESTING
MMS student will not be taking the Measurement of Student Progress (MSP) test this year - with the exception of 8th grade science. Instead, MMS will be part of a national pilot test of the Smarter Balanced Assessment. The SBA tests students against the Common Core Standards, with integrated Language Arts and Math exams. Because it is a pilot test, no results will be reported to States, school districts, schools or families. However, it is a unique opportunity for students to experience these new exams before they must take them and pass them to graduate. The exams are online, and MMS will be provided with enough ChromeBooks for every student in our school to take the exams simultaneously.
Our schedule for the exams is as follows:
Tuesday-Thursday, April 15-17 - 7th and 8th grade Language Arts exams
Tuesday-Wednesday, April 22-23 - 7th and 8th grade Math exams
