About the Lynnwood High School Library

Students at Lynnwood High School are very fortunate to have the services of Mr. Jim Lyon, Library Media Specialist, and Mrs. Ilse Uyleman, to assist them. Mr. Lyon also serves as our web site content manager.

Our library is located on the bottom level of Building 'B' on our Main Campus. To visit us, please enter via the main entryway of Building 'B'. Turn right and proceed approximately ten feet, where you will take the stairs down to the lower level. Turn left at the bottom of the stairs and you will see the main entrance to our library.

The Library Media Center is the hub of the school, providing a range of materials to support the curriculum and books for enrichment and recreational reading. Students can use the LMC when signed in by their classroom teachers or when doing independent study. The latter requires that students come to the LMC with a Library Research Pass from their teacher, and remain in the LMC until the end of the period. The LMC is open during lunch only to students who have a pass. Students may check out library books as often as they need to, providing they do not have any overdue books or library fines. Students owing library fines will not receive their grade reports or diplomas. A student computer lab is also located in the LRC with adult supervision and assistance.

The LHS library comes complete with two computer labs and a wide variety of books, magazines, periodicals and audio-visual resources.

Mr. Lyon has provided links to the Magazine and Newspaper database, the World Book Online Encyclopedia, and Current Events by 2facts.com. From here, you can also go to Edmonds Research Links, the Sno-Isle Library System, links to Washington State Resources, or our very own exhaustive list of Internet Search Engines.

If you are looking for specific links by subject area, we have moved them to their own specific directory in our site. We have put together a broad range of research links to help you find the information you need. Feel free to ask us for help with any question you may have. Happy Hunting!
