Athletics // About Lynnwood High School Athletics
 
 

Lynnwood High School is a member of the WESCO 3A/4A Conference, Northwest District One, and the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA). Our teams compete with other teams throughout the conference and state for league, district and state honors. Students who wish to participate in athletics must follow the criteria set forth by Lynnwood High School, the Edmonds School District, and the WIAA.  Students or parents who have questions or need information/forms should contact Athletic Coordinator Rob McMains or Athletic Secretary Lisa Gordon in the Athletics’ offices located in the Career Center.  Mr. McMains can also be reached at (425) 431-5345, and Ms. Gordon can be reached at (425) 431-5217.

All participants will be required to follow the Edmonds School District Extra-Curricular Activities Regulations. A copy of the regulations can be obtained at http://staff.edmonds.wednet.edu/users/kernsj/7000/7385r1.htm. The possession, use, or sale of drugs and/or alcohol could result in permanent removal from the athletic program.

To participate in athletics, students must have all paperwork on file in the Athletics’ Office.

In order to start practicing, athletes must complete:

      1) Parent permission form (Form AD-2) (Only once per school year)
      2) Single sports clearance form (Form AD-1) (Must be turned in every season.)
      3) Current medical/physical examination.
      4) All school fines must be paid.
      5) Purchase an ASB card ($42 for the 2008-09 school year)

In addition, in order to be eligible for competition, athletes must:

 1) Be academically eligible.  A student must be taking at least 2.5 credits and can be failing no more than one class during their most recent grading period.
 2) Pay a $40.00 sports participation fee (for 2008-09).
