Principal:
Dave Golden
Dave
Golden was born and raised in a small
town in upstate New York. He attended Albany
State University and received his Bachelor’s,
Master’s and Advanced Study Degrees
from that school. Following college, Dave
taught in
the inner city of Albany for seven years. He
became an Assistant Principal in 1979 and
had his first
Principalship in 1988. He and his wife, Sibel,
moved to Washington State in 1995. He has
been
principal at Marysville-Pilchuck
High School and, since 2000, has been a
proud Royal. He lives with his wife and10-
yea- old son,
Eli, in north Seattle. When asked what he likes
best about Lynnwood High School, Mr. Golden
said,
“In over thirty years of education, I have
never been involved in a school that had a more
considerate and kind group of students and staff.
There is a sense of family at Lynnwood that
just
doesn’t usually exist in high schools today.
We are a really good school aiming to be even
better.”
Assistant Principal: Carmela Morelli
Although
a native of New York, Carmela
Morelli went to elementary and middle school
in Oak Harbor. She completed both her Bachelors
of Science and Masters of Arts in Secondary Science
Education in New York. She taught middle school
science for eight years in Yonkers, NY. She then
moved back to Oak Harbor where she taught HS Biology
for five years. She earned her Administrative
credential at WWU.
She has been Assistant Principal here at LHS
since
2000. She has one son who currently attends high
school here in the Edmonds School District and
is a three season athlete.
Assistant
Principal: Debbie Custer
Ms.
Debbie Custer grew up in Los Angeles area
until start of high school. She graduated from
Tyee High then went on to Central Washington University,
where she completed a teaching degree in Special
Education. After college she moved to Phoenix,
Arizona with husband Jim. In 1987, the couple
moved back to Washington state with our their
children, Kris, Kate, Brandon and Janelle. Ms.
Custer then taught Special Education in the Renton
and Kent School Districts. During this time, she
attended the UW, where she completed her Masters'
degree in School Administration in 1993. She has
served as an assistant principal at both junior
and senior highs and as principal of an alternative
high school. She has spent her last three years
seeing the world, travelling and enjoying two
new grandchildren, Aidan and Kiera. Ms. Custer
returned to Washington this summer to join the
Lynnwood High staff. She lives in South Everett
with husband Jim, daughter Janelle and granddaughter
Kiera and our faithful dog of 14 years, Oscar.
Ms. Custer says, "I believe strongly that
there is nothing like a dream to create the future."
