The
ASB is formed as a non-profit organization for the
support of and participation in optional, non-credit
school district extracurricular events of a cultural,
social, recreational or athletic nature. All students
that participate in ASB sponsored activities, including
athletics, music, drama and other clubs are required
to purchase an ASB card. Those students who purchase
an ASB card are entitled to free admission to home
athletic events, discounts on yearbooks, parking
permits, dances and other events at LHS.
The ASB is made up of an Executive Board:
President
Vice-President: Events and Activities
Vice-President: Publicity
Secretary
Treasurer
Historian
The senior, junior and sophomore class has representation
from and elected board made up of a President,
Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer, as well
as at-large offices of their design, supported
by at least one faculty member serving as a class
advisor. The freshman class representation is
made up of a board of volunteer students that
serve at the direction of a class advisor. Each
homeroom (2nd period) has one representative that
reports to ASB meetings to both represent their
class and report back to their constituents.
ASB elections are normally held in March, with
the officers-elect serving in an internship role
under Executive Board for the remainder of the
school year. Class elections are held in April.
Questions regarding ASB should be directed to
activity coordinator Aly Nelson .
