Welcome to Sherwood Elementary School!

I am excited to welcome you to Sherwood Elementary School for the 2012-2013 school year.  Sherwood has a strong tradition of guiding students to do their best academically fostered by a caring and nurturing school staff.  We appreciate the strong parent and community support which is an important component of a successful school.

At Sherwood, we want to prepare students for the world of the 21^st century which has become a changing and complex world.  Students will need to evaluate many sources of information, make complex decisions, work with people from all over the world, understand different cultures and cultural expectations, learn in different ways, and communicate with others using new technology.   We are a community that nurtures the development of independent, life-long learners.  We are glad that you are at Sherwood joining us on this journey!

Please look for ways to get involved at Sherwood through the Parent Student Organization (PSO) and/or as a classroom volunteer.   You’ll find additional information about school activities on our calendar or on the PSO website.
