Viking Athletics To participate, students must have a current phyical, a parent permission form, and a single sport clearance form. They also must meet the academic requirements and be in good standing regarding attendance and discipline. All middle school sports in the Edmonds School District have a $65 participation fee. Students trying out for a team with "cuts" do not have to pay the fee unless they make the team. A waiver for this fee is available to students who qualify for free or reduced lunch. Meadowdale Middle School offers 8 sports during 4 different seasons. We play the other middle schools of the Sno-King Middle School league. This league includes schools from Mukilteo, Shoreline and the Edmonds School Districts. FALL - Practices begin September 6 Football- 8th grade boys, no cuts. Coaches - Mr. Kendrick, Mr. Boardman, Mr. Steiner, Mr. Wilson Fastpitch softball- 7/8 grade girls combined team, cuts. Coaches - Mr. Hopkins, Mr. Emery Cross Country- 7/8 grade boys and girls, no cuts. Coaches - Ms. Wilson, Mr. Warner WINTER SEASON #1 - Practices begin November 5 Boys Basketball- 7th grade and 8th grade team, cuts. Coaches - Mr. Kendrick, Mr. Wilson Girls Volleyball- 7th grade and 8th grade team, cuts. Coaches - Mr. Steiner, Ms. Morrison WINTER SEASON #2 - Practices begin January 28 Girls Basketball- 7th and 8th grade team, cuts. Coaches - Mr. Kendrick, Ms. Oliver Wrestling- 7th and 8th grade boys and girls, no cuts. Coaches - Mr. Boardman, Mr. Steiner ***Wrestlers also need a yearly "minimum weight form" SPRING - Practices begin April 8 Track and Field- 7th and 8th grade boys & girls, no cuts. Coaches - Ms. Wilson, Ms. Guffey, Mr. Wilson DURING SELECTED SEASONS, AN ACTIVITY BUS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO GIVE ATHLETES A RIDE HOME AT 4:45 PM. CHECK WITH YOUR COACH FOR SPECIFIC INFORMATION.
