Meet with the MHS counseling department to get an overview of the fall application process for seniors and how your counselors can help with this process.
Fine, Visual and Performing Arts Fair, October 29 @ 7:00pm at Fisher Pavilion, Seattle
The NACAC Performing and Visual Arts College Fair will be held on Tuesday, October 29th from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the Fisher Pavilion at the Seattle Center. Students interested in applying to colleges with strong Performance and Visual Arts majors are encouraged to attend. This is a great opportunity for juniors and sophomores to see all that will needed to present an art portfolio. Parents are encouraged to attend as well to help students understand National Portfolio Day.
Seattle National College Fair, November 8 & 9, Washington State Convention Center
The Seattle National College Fair, sponsored by the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) will be held at the Washington State Convention Center on Friday, November 8th from 12:00—4:00 pm and Saturday, November 9th from 9:00 am—noon. College representatives from over 300 colleges from throughout the nation will be in attendance and available to talk to students and parents. Additionally, there will be information sessions on Financial Aid, College Athletics, Applying to Selective Schools, etc.
Financial Aid Night, Thursday, December 5 @ 7:00pm in the Library
Join financial planner, David Aramaki, to learn about the financial aid process and the documentation required to complete the financial aid forms required by colleges and universities.
College Planning Night, Thursday, February 13 @ 7:00pm in the Great Hall
Meadowdale High School is honored to be hosting the 2014 Junior-Sophomore College Planning Night on Thursday, February 13 at 7:00 pm. Our keynote speaker will be Paul Seegert, Director of Admissions at the University of Washington.
Following the keynote address, we will offer over a dozen breakout sessions about various aspects of college admissions. Even if you have attended in the past, we encourage you to come again as you cannot see all sessions in one night. Students are encouraged to attend with their parents/guardians. All attendees will also receive the Guide to College Admissions produced by the Meadowdale High School Counselors. Breakout sessions include:
Applying to public universities in Washington state, Selective college admissions, The NCAA and the student athlete, College for first generation students, Opportunities in Canada, Student Panel, Opportunities at community colleges, The ACT and SAT, Financing College, Writing the admission essay and personal statement, College for students with learning disabilities, Opportunities for the artistically talented student
