F A Q

When did construction start? Summer of 2009.

When was the new school ready? The project achieved substantial completion in August 2011 and students occupied the school in September 2011. 

Where is the new building be located? The new building was constructed to the west of the existing main building. It extends from about the location of the old gym out into the previous baseball field.

Where did students attend school during construction? Students went to classes in the existing buildings while the new schools was being built. The technology shop was demolished early in the construction process to allow building the new gym. When the new gym was complete, it was used while the old gym/music building was demolished.

How is this project being funded? This project was approved by the voters as part of the 2006 Bond measure, which is also funding the new Lynnwood High School, and other facilities improvements. The District will be applying for State construction matching funds as well.
