4330 - Use of District-Owned Vehicles

Adopted

Revised

10/15/85

It is the policy of Edmonds School District that vehicles will be provided by the district for use by designated employees in carrying out specified duties. Such vehicles are to be assigned to personnel or departments whose duties require regular in-district travel, such as maintenance, planning office, audio-visual instructional media staff, and special services.

District-owned vehicles shall be used by district employees for approved travel on school business, whenever available.

District-owned vehicles are not to be used for transportation between school and home unless such use is authorized by the superintendent or his/her designee as appropriate because of need for evening and/or weekend use on district business (see district policy 3510).

Procedures for the assignment and use of school-owned vehicles shall be established and administered by the supervisor of transportation, who shall certify which vehicles are approved for out-of-district travel as necessary to implement the provisions of district policy 3500 and 3505 R1.
