When a vacancy occurs in the superintendent's position, a thorough analysis of the position of superintendent in terms of the educational, managerial, and leadership needs of the district shall occur. This analysis will be used to determine the criteria for selection and the recruitment process to be utilized. The Board of Directors shall establish the qualifications for the superintendent.

The Board may employ one or more outside consultants in recruiting and screening candidates. The Board will interview all finalists and select the superintendent.

The superintendent shall be elected by a majority of the Board of Directors by roll call vote in an open public meeting.
