Did you know? Money from the 2006 Capital Construction Bond and from the sale or ground lease of district property legally must go toward capital improvements. It cannot help fund instruction or staffing needs.

Fall 2008

School Takes Shape

Construction at the site of the new Lynnwood High School at 18218 North Road has been underway for more than a year, and progress is impressive. Construction is divided into zones, which are built sequentially. The large central "Agora" space and two classroom wings, first in the sequence, will soon have drywall in place. The library/gymnasium wing is framed and fireproofed, and roofing is in progress. The theater/arts wing is close to completion with roofing, and enclosure work will follow this winter.

During summer 2008, site work (roads, parking areas, and athletic fields) pushed much closer to completion. The baseball field is almost done, and the football field's artificial turf will be placed this fall. In addition, road right-of-way and sidewalk improvements are largely done, and the traffic signal on North Road is in place, although not yet operation.

This project is funded by the voter-approved 2006 Bond and is expected to be complete in summer 2009 and operational for start of school in September.

For more information about the project, contact project manager Debra Born at 425-672-8174 or bornd@edmonds.wednet.edu.
