Q & A
Levy How-Tos
Edmonds School District
School Tech Resources
  • Mobile labs
  • Networked printers
  • Library resources
  • Check-out equipment
  • So that we can put tools into the hands of students where their learning takes place, this levy provides wireless laptop labs in movable, locking carts that can be shared amongst classrooms.

  • Elementary and middle schools 1 wireless laptop cart of 15 computers
  • High Schools 2 wireless laptop carts of 15 computers
  • In addition to the Classroom Tech Stations and the laptop labs, the levy ensures that each classroom cluster (pods) in each building has an up-to-date networked printer so students and teachers need to just step outside their doors to pick up printing.

The levy also provides expanded library resources for student use. We ensure that our teachers and students have access to educationally valuable resources for learning. More and more, we rely on accessing information on the internet. Edmonds School District makes an investment in providing only the best and most relevant information for learning. Some of the current resources are:

  • World Book On-line
  • Proquest
  • eLibrary
  • Net Trekker
  • Britannica On-line
  • Students may access these resources at:
    Online Resources

Equipment was purchased to provide a means to share student work in a large group setting. The equipment includes: powerful LCD projectors, sound systems and storage carts.

Schools began to see this portion of the levy rolled out during the 2004-05 school year. Some of these components were phased in as schools chose their platforms and as the Network Upgrade were initiated.
