Subject:AverVision and Projector repairs
We have had an unusual
number of AverVision document presenters fail. We are currently working
with the vendor on a recall of all units with serial numbers ending in 4080 and
4090. This recall will happen at the end of the school year.
In the meantime, if the
AverVisions or Hitachi
projectors fail, please follow the procedures outlined below.
Let me know if you have any
questions on this issue.

PROCEDURE FOR SENDING FAILED
AVERVISIONS AND PROJECTORS TO THE TECH DEPT
If a Levy
issued AverVision fails, please do the following:
1) Contact Brenda McElroy, x7338 to inform her that you will be
returning equipment. Inform her of the problem (i.e. no projection.)
2) Check that all items are included - remote, the two-part
power cord and black video cable (none w/blue ends), strap, and case. Failure
to include any of these items results in a delay in getting the equipment
returned. Please place Avervision in case and then in original box for
return. Using the original box assists with returning the equipment to
the vendor.
3) On outside of box, using a district information slip, please
include the following information: a) Teacher's Name b) Name of
School - room number is not necessary, c) Problem with
equipment d) Serial Number - Please do not use a sticky note as
they often come off during the transport from your school to the Tech Dept.
Turn-around
time depends on the availability of spare replacement equipment. If
replacements are available when the Avervision is received, the teacher can
expect to receive a new one the next day. Otherwise, it should be within
a week.
If a Levy
issued Hitachi
projector fails, please do the following:
1) Contact Sharon Gardner, Help Line, x7333 to inform her that
you will be returning a projector. Let her know the exact problem with
the projector.
2) Send only the projector to Sharon in the Tech Dept. The case and
other equipment are not needed.
3) Include the name of the teacher, school, serial number, and
the reason that the projector is being returned.
Turn-around
time for projectors is approximately two days.
