AverVision 300 Document Presenter Recall

We are experiencing an extremely high failure rate of the AverVision 300 Document Presenters with serial numbers that end in 4080 and 4090.   We are working with our vendor to have all of these units replaced during the summer.

As you wind up the year, can you please look at your document presenters and determine if they need to be replaced?  The serial number is on the bottom of the unit and is 9-digits long.  If you have these units, then, do the following:

  1. Put the following items - remote, the two-part power cord and black video cable (not the one with blue ends), and document presenter – into the case.
  2. Gather all units in one secure place in your school.
  3. Send an email to Brenda McElroy (mcelroyb@edmonds.wednet.edu) letting her know how many you have and where you have stored them.

We will pick them up and drop-off replacement document presenters over the summer.

Guidelines for Summer Storage of Equipment

The levy equipment (projector and document presenter) is valuable and should not be left out during the summer months.  It would be a good idea to lock the equipment in a cabinet or central secured area instead of depending on the Kensington locks and cables to keep them secure during this extended break.

The spreadsheet that Cathi Greenwood emailed to you on May 24th is good way to keep track of where the equipment should be returned prior to the start of next school year.

Teacher Transfer and Levy Equipment Discussion

The levy projector and document presenters are assigned to a classroom space, not to a teacher.  Therefore, if a teacher is leaving your school and going to another school in the district he/she should NOT take this equipment.

If your school is adding more classrooms next year, please let me know.  We will make a note of this and schedule delivery of additional equipment as close to the start of school as possible.

Also, if your enrollment projections indicate that your school will have less classrooms next year, please let me know.  Since you will not know for certain, if you have less classrooms until the 4th day count on Sept. 9th, you do not have to return equipment until then.

Hitachi Projector Lamp Vouchers

Vouchers to get, at no charge, a replacement lamp for the Hitachi projectors were distributed this week.  If you have any questions about these, please contact Cathi Greenwood.
