Subject: Classroom Tech Station Out of the Box Training Reminder

Instructional Tech. Levy Building Point People & Principals in Wave One of the Classroom Tech Station Rollout:

If you are receiving this message, then it means that your school is one of the 19 schools that has volunteered to be in Wave One for receiving their Classroom Tech Station/Instructional Tech. Levy equipment. Your school has not yet let us know who your trainers are and which Out of the Box training dates they will be attending.

As a reminder, you have until Tuesday, August 31st to get us this information. This date is approaching quickly and training sessions are starting to fill up. If we do not hear from you by August 31st, then we may need to move your school to Wave Two of this adoption, which would not begin until later on this school year – if a later wave is now a better fit for your school, please let me know.

 

Please contact Elmo Wright by August 31st with the following information:

1. The names of your building trainers (we can pay for up to 2 trainers per building to attend a series of two trainings).

2. What their first and second training group choices are (training dates are included in original message below).

Below is the full version of the original letter that was sent out to all 19 Wave One school point people & their principals that was sent earlier this month:

The first two components of our Classroom Tech Stations (document presenters and projectors) are expected to arrive shortly. Each building will be responsible for training their staff on how to use these items to help students learn. To help each building do so, we will be holding required “train the trainer” style sessions throughout the month of September. Please select one or two people in your building to complete the following:

1. Sign up for and attend one set of “Out of the Box” trainings provided by the district (dates and times are listed below). Attendees should plan on attending one of the 2-hour classes as well as the corresponding 1-hour class.

2. After attending both training sessions, schedule a series of two “Out of the Box” trainings for their staff back in their building.

3. After attending both training sessions, facilitate or co-facilitate a series of two “Out of the Box” trainings back in their building. After the training, teachers who are truly not comfortable facilitating these trainings back in their buildings may receive co-facilitator assistance from the district.

After your building has chosen their trainer (or trainers), please select their first and second choice of trainer training groups. Trainers should plan on attending both one of the 2-hour and the corresponding 1-hour classes within the same group. Note: If your building chooses to send more than one teacher to these trainings, it is highly recommended that they attend the same meetings.

Trainers who attend the “Out of the Box” sessions will receive curriculum rate pay.

Training Session Options (Select Top Two Choices)

Training Group One: 9/7 from 4-6pm and 9/9 from 4-5pm @ Old Woodway HS

Training Group Two: 9/8 from 4-6pm and 9/10 from 4-5pm @ Old Woodway HS

Training Group Three: 9/13 from 4-6pm and 9/16 from 4-5pm @ ESC

Training Group Four: 9/20 from 3-5pm and 9/23 from 3-4pm @ Old Woodway HS

Training Group Five: 9/22 from 3-5pm and 9/28 from 3-5pm @ ESC

Training Group Six: 9/27 from 4-6pm and 9/30 from 4-5pm @ ESC

 

Please let Elmo Wright know who your building trainers will be as well as their first and second training group date choices no later than Tuesday, August 31st.
