In order to plan and
prepare for getting projectors and document presenters (a.k.a. document cameras)
into some of our classrooms in the Fall of 2004, we need some information from
your school. Please provide the
following:
1) Number of classrooms
you have. This equipment will be issued based on
the number of instructional spaces you use, not how many teachers you have. A copy of a floor plan of your school
would be extremely helpful.
2) Information forms for
each classroom
requesting a projector and document presenters. We need to have at least 50% of your
classrooms requesting the equipment at this time to process your
order. Use the attached form, or complete
it online at http://www.edmonds.wednet.edu/wts/projector.htm
Please submit the above
information to the Technology Department, attn: Cynthia Nelson before July 30, 2004 at 4 p.m. For reference, future deadlines and
corresponding implementation dates are as follows:

Here's some related
information:
- No
computers will be
purchased at this time. We are
working on professional development plans and refining computer
specifications. Most classrooms
already have networked computers that can be connected to the projectors
provided in this project phase.
We have also found that many teachers use the projector and document
presenter without a computer.
- Not everything will
be replaced now. If you have projectors already, and
they meet the minimum specifications that we have defined, then the projector
will not be replaced at this time.
We will, however, reserve funds to replace these projectors in a few
years (this depends on the exact make/model you
have).
If you provide the
information requested above, we will be contacting you during the summer months
to keep you posted on our status and to start working on training plans. Please start thinking about who would be
a good trainer in your school and what would be a good training date for your
school.
If you have questions on
the Instructional Tech Levy, please call or email
us.
