The purpose of assessment and reporting student progress is to report and record the progress and development of the student. The process should support and contribute to a sound working relationship between the school, the student, and his/her parents or guardians. The schools of the district will regularly provide students and parents with written reports of student progress. Ongoing communication with students, parents, or guardians is encouraged. The reports will communicate basic information which is clear, meaningful, and helpful in assessing and planning the student's educational program.

The process of reporting student progress shall include parent teacher conferences for elementary school students.
