4105 - Video Security and Access Control on School Property

The Board authorizes the use of video security equipment on district property and vehicles (see Policy 4301), as well as the use of electronic access control systems and intrusion detecton systems to help increase the safety of students, staff, and visitors to district property; to safeguard district facilities and equipment; and to aid in the enforcement of district policies and procedures. Security cameras and access control devices and intrusion detection systems will be used to support active monitoring of safety and security and investigation of issues, concerns, or complaints.
The superintendent or designee will develop procedures concerning the access, use and retention of video recordings and signage concerning installation and use of video security equipment.
