Firefighters give new coats to 54 District Kindergarteners

ThrFirefightersee classrooms of kindergarten students at Mountlake Terrace Elementary eagerly tried on and then received a brand new winter coat Nov. 2. Called “Operation Warm,” the firefighters from Snohomish County Fire District 1 provided the 54 coats as part of the Operation Warm Coats for Kids campaign sponsored by the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF).

Since 2014, IAFF Local 1828 has provided a total of more than 400 coats to students in south Snohomish County. At Mountlake Terrace Elementary, Principal Doug Johnson said he sees first graders who received coats last year wearing them this year, indicating how appreciated and needed they are by his students. Thank you firefighters!
