Summer 2008 Opportunities

Summer School

Students looking for learning opportunities this summer should look no further than the Edmonds School District. Classes for elementary students will run July 8-Aug. 1, and secondary-student courses will run July 7-Aug. 1. Families will be able to register their children for Summer School classes beginning April 14.

This year’s Summer School offerings will be held at Cedar Valley Community School (for elementary programs) and Lynnwood High School (for secondary programs).

All classes are available for students who live in the Edmonds School District and some are available to those from outside the District. Courses vary in cost, although scholarships may be available to those who qualify. Please check with your child’s school for scholarship information.

For elementary students, classes available will cover reading, writing, and math, and an extra boost for students entering first grade. All elementary students must be referred by their current teacher. English Language Learners (ELL) and special-education opportunities are available for both elementary and secondary students. English, math, and social studies courses are available to secondary students for credit-retrieval only.
