To register, please go to your neighborhood school to pick up a packet and bring the following with you:
Current proof of residency (a PUD, gas, or garbage bill; homeowner's statement or insurance policy; lease or renter's statement or receipt of payment; renter's or homeowner's insurance policy) before they can accept your registration materials. The proof of residency must show the parent/guardian's name and address.
The school will also need to see the information below In order for your registration to be marked "complete." However, if you are missing these items, please don't let that stop you from going to your school to start the registration process:
Registered birth certificate (issued by the county of your child's birth)
Immunization history (students must be in compliance with all immunizations prior to the start of school)
Emergencycontact information including:
Work phone numbers for parents
Names and phone numbers of two additional emergency contacts
Daycare information, if applicable
Name and phone number of child's physician or clinic
Parenting plan/court order, if applicable.
Proof of guardianship if student is living with an adult other than the parent.
If you registered prior to August 19, and you are missing any of the required information, please turn in as much of the paperwork as possible and we will assign a tentative registration date. The deadline for turning in all of the required items is August 20. If the information is not received by August 20 your date of registration will become the day the information is received. Registrations initiated after August 20 will be assigned a date/time of registration based on when the packet is complete.
It is important to have an earlier date of registration in case your child's grade level is over-enrolled after school begins in September (please see the "Over Enrollment" page to the left for more information).
Your child will not be able to start school until the paperwork is complete, a birth certificate has been copied for your child's file, and all required immunizations have been received.
On the pages to the left you will find additional information about District kindergarten programs, over enrollment procedures, and kindergarten and first grade early entrance (for students who do not turn 5 or 6 by August 31, 2016).
If you are interested in the Madrona or Maplewood K8 programs, please contact them for information on entering their lotteries.
Students are assigned to a school based on their home address (where the student spends four or more nights a week). We are unable to accept a daycare address as the home address. To locate the school you are assigned to by your address, please go to the District home page and click on the "Neighborhood School Finder" link, then enter your child's grade and address.
Choose "Transfer Information" from the "Parents" tab above for instructions on applying for a transfer to attend a school other than your neighborhood school. It is important that you register at your neighborhood school in case we cannot accommodate your request for transfer.
