Welcome to the Counseling Department Web Page!

Counselors, together with other faculty members, strive to
increase student motivation and achievement by maximizing each individual's educational, personal, social, and career development potential.  We act as advocates for students in working with school personnel, families, and community agencies to remove barriers to student learning.Counselors provide direct service in the areas of academic guidance, post-high school planning, crisis intervention, personal counseling, and referrals to outside resources.

While each counselor has primary responsibility for a section of the alphabet, we are always available to any students needing to talk.

Appointments:  Students may sign up for an appointment with their counselor in the counseling office.  It is up to the student to get permission from their teacher to leave class for an appointment--counselors will not call students down for these appointments.  Counselors are usually available before school and during lunches for drop-in appointments as well.

MTHS Scholarships: Seniors who want to
be considered for any MTHS scholarship or scholarship where a school nomination is required need to fill out an MTHS Scholarshop Application.  A copy of the student's senior résumé should be attached to the form and returned to the Counseling Office ASAP.  The sooner the form is received, the sooner a senior may be considered for these scholarships.

Enrolling your student:  If you have questions about which school your student would attend in the Edmonds School District you can check out our Neighborhood School Finder http://webquery.edmonds.wednet.edu/edulog/webquery/.  If your student will attend Mountlake Terrace HS, please bring the following with you to register:  Proof of residency (Utility bill, Lease or Rental contract/receipt of payment, Mortgage contract, Homeowners or Renters insurance policy or receipt), immunizations and an (un)official transcript from previous high school.  You may expedite the process by printing out the Registration Form (P134s) and Attachment (P134att) from our District website http://www.edmonds.wednet.edu/
