The monthly enrollment report (often referred to by form number P-223) shows the number of students by grade level, as well as the percentage of students enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program, for every school. The abbreviation “HC” refers to the Head Count, or actual number of students, enrolled at the school. The abbreviation “FTE” describes the Full Time Equivalency of the students (for example, a kindergartner must be reported as half of a full time student and is reported as a .5 FTE, but counts as a 1 in the Head Count column).
This information is reported to OSPI on a monthly basis to determine state funding for the district, and creates the foundation for future enrollment projections at the district level as well as for statewide statistical purposes.
